How to Move Lava in Sandustry Guide
How to move Lava in Sandustry safely: convert it to Cinder, transport it away from factory lanes, then verify freeze-and-break and reheating in your build.
Can you transport Lava directly?
Lava is hazardous to place beside ordinary production lanes, so the supplied notes recommend converting it before transport. Freeze Lava with Snow to make Scoria, then break the Scoria to obtain Cinder. Move the Cinder to the destination rather than trying to carry an open lava flow across the factory.
Prepare a contained destination
Build the destination enclosure before bringing in Cinder. A filter and solid block can hold material in a small controlled location for a burner design. Keep the enclosure separated from conveyors and storage that should not be exposed to heat.
Reheat with the correct tool
The supplied notes say Cinder needs direct Flamethrower flame to melt back into Lava, rather than passive heat. Test a small amount first because this interaction may change during Early Access. Once it works, add the Residue route above the contained heat source only if it remains stable.
Protect the rest of the factory
Do not route water, plants, or mixed output through the lava transport cell. Keep cleanup access on both sides and observe the system after it runs for a while. A small isolated burner is easier to repair than a heat source embedded in the main bus.
